KCOM looking forward to “juiced up” Business Day

KCOM is looking forward to refreshing delegates at this year’s The Business Day – both physically and electronically.

The communications provider will be hosting a “chill out” space at the event, which will be held at Bridlington Spa, on Friday, 8 June, where delegates will be able to relax with a fresh fruit juice while putting more “juice” in their phones at handy recharging points.

Alan Worthing, KCOM’s director of business, said he was looking forward to returning to Bridlington for what promises to be an enjoyable and informative day.

He said: “We are delighted to support The Business Day for what has, historically, been a fantastic climax to Humber Business Week.

“It’s a chance for businesses big and small to come together to learn about, understand and above all celebrate the success that exists throughout this region and its business community.

“It’s a real privilege to be able to get together and meet so many great people who are making a real difference running businesses across Hull and East Yorkshire. The quality of speakers this year is also outstanding and I’m sure the audience will be able to gain some great insights that apply to their own businesses.

“Plus, who doesn’t like to be beside the seaside? This is probably tempting fate but the sun has always shone on us every time we’ve been in Bridlington.”

As well as giving delegates the chance to unwind, KCOM will also be debuting its social media-powered vending machine - where visitors will be able to win prizes by tweeting - and giving live demonstrations of its Meraki Wi-Fi platform for business.

The Business Day is the region’s premier networking event and will be attended by a sold-out crowd of 650 business leaders who will gather to hear a host of star speakers including Live Aid organiser Sir Bob Geldof, social entrepreneur Josh Littlejohn and Yorkshire cricketing legend Geoffrey Boycott.

The day will be hosted by BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty.

The Business Day is the finale to a week of events, seminars and chances to gain insights from some of the region’s most knowledgeable experts across a wide range of business disciplines.

Among the highlights taking place as part of Humber Business Week are an Institute of Directors lunch with British sporting legend Sally Gunnell OBE, a seminar on the practical implications of GDPR and a session on “Tomorrow’s World Today”. This event will be hosted by Hull’s digital ambassador David Keel at The Deep and will look at how technology is transforming industry.
